Terms of Service

Last updated: October 6, 2026

These terms govern use of CIST CodeQuest (“the Platform”), provided by the Canadian International School Tangier (“the School”) to its enrolled students, teachers, and administrators. By using the Platform, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use the Platform

Access is limited to current students (Grades 1–8), teachers, and administrators of the School. Accounts are created by the School, not by self-registration. A student’s account belongs to them individually and should not be shared with classmates.

2. Acceptable use

  • Use the Platform for its intended purpose: completing missions, lessons, and challenges, building projects, and participating respectfully in the Community section.
  • Community posts and comments should be school-appropriate. Teachers and admins can remove content that isn’t, and may hide a student’s posting ability if needed.
  • Do not attempt to access another student’s account, bypass level or mission locks, or interfere with the Platform’s normal operation.
  • Code submitted for challenges and projects should be the student’s own work, consistent with the School’s academic honesty expectations for classroom assignments.

3. Teacher and admin responsibilities

Teachers and admins manage rosters, courses, missions, and published content for their own school/classes. They’re responsible for keeping their own login credentials confidential and for using student data only for legitimate classroom purposes.

4. Availability

The Platform is provided for classroom use on an as-available basis. Features, missions, and content may be added, changed, or removed as the curriculum evolves. The School will make reasonable efforts to avoid disrupting work in progress, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

5. Account removal

The School may suspend or remove an account that violates these terms, or when a student is no longer enrolled. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to data after an account is removed.

6. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that materially affects how the Platform may be used, the School will be notified before the change takes effect.

This is a plain-language description of how the Platform is intended to be used. It is not a substitute for formal legal advice — the School should have it reviewed before relying on it as a binding legal document.
